Kool Johnny Kool is a writer and lyricist delivering an intense vibe through cultural and dancehall reggae music. His name derived from his calm, cool and collected demeanor is all but that when he steps onto the stage.
Kool was born in St. Catherine, Jamaica and later moved to Kingston. His first record entitled Education was released in 1987. His career began under Jacko Thelwell and Dr. Paul of the "Ruff Cut Crew". Kool has graced a series of dancehall reggae hits over the years in France and locally in Jamaica. He released his debut single in early 1992 entitled Wicked People, a record on the answer rhythm which was followed up later by his full length album entitled Strength and Power.
By the mid-nineties with the success of his first album release Kool Johnny Kool had developed both a name and fan base for himself locally in Jamaica and the dancehall scene at large regionally and internationally. Stemming from his first 1992 international performance in Ghana West Africa, representing Jamaica at the Panifest to an audience of more than sixty thousand, this dynamic artist and performer has performed in Holland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, United States, Japan, Caribbean, and England. His performances are always dazzling with his command of the stage mesmerizing. Kool has maintained his solo career, but has performed with many reggae artists at the top of the scene.
